The brand new trailer finally confirmed it will be coming to cinemas.
The so-hot-right-now director of The Fault In Our Stars. The even-hotter-right-now stars of Game Of Thrones, The Suicide Squad, Stranger Things, and Split. However, the "right now" was 2018.
Yep, The New Mutants was originally to be released in April 2018, but then... well... it wasn't.
We did a deep dive on it all right here, but in short, with Fox being bought out by Disney, there was talk that the movie would end up going straight to Disney+, or just not being released at all, because the nasty, violent, horror version of Marvel might not gel well with the bright and fun Avengers stories being told.
Well, it looks like all of that hypothesizing can be put in the bin, as a brand new trailer for the movie has dropped, and it looks like The New Mutants will finally be hitting the big screen, practically two years to the day since it was to be released in the first place.
Director Boone has since moved on to this new project - a mini-series based on Stephen King's epic novel The Stand, also due out in 2020 - while the young and hip cast have grown up a lot in the last two years.
The new trailer points to a more action-focused, special effects heavy movie than the dank and dark creepy horror of the previous trailer, so perhaps those reshoots have taken the project in a very different direction.
We don't have too much longer to wait to find out, as The New Mutants is set to arrive in Irish cinemas on Wednesday 8 April.
