Nicolas Cage doing Jiu Jitsu vs aliens looks like the greatest movie of the year

Wil Jones

This is what Nicolas Cage does now in 2020.

2020 has been a tough year for movies – but Nicolas Cage is here with an utterly ludicrous looking film to save it.

Modern-day Nicolas Cage is no stranger to appearing in completely insane-looking films, but even by his recent track record, Jiu Jitsu looks wild.

Cage stars as the leader of an ancient society of martial artists, who have to fight off evil aliens trying to invade the Earth.

So yeah, it is a film with Nicolas Cage, aliens and martial arts – what more could you want?

The trailer was released on Tuesday, and we’re not gonna lie, we are very excited.

There is actually a pretty good action movie cast backing up Nicolas Cage in Jiu Jitsu as well.

The most notable name is Tony Jaa, the Thai action star who has wowed martial arts fans in classics like Ong Bak, Tom-Yum-Goong and SPL II. You also might have seen him in several Hollywood films, including Fast & Furious 7, and xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

Also in there is Frank Grillo, from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Grey, End of Watch, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Purge: Anarchy. Grillo is no stranger to mixed martial arts, having appeared in Warrior with Tom Hardy, having also hosted the FightWorld documentary series for Netflix, travelling around the world to learn about different styles of fighting.

The official synopsis for the film reads:

“An ancient order of Jiu Jitsu fighters faces a vicious race of alien invaders in an epic battle for the survival of Earth. Nicolas Cage joins a cast that includes Alain Moussi, Frank Grillo, Rick Yune, Marie Avgeropoulos, Juju Chan, and Tony Jaa.

Co-written and directed by Kickboxer: Retaliation’s Dimitri Logothetis, Jiu Jitsu will be released in cinemas, on demand and digital in the US on 20 November.

There is no word on the release yet on this side of the world just yet, but we hope it comes soon.
