Here are the NINE movies coming to cinemas in October we’re very excited about

Bring on the bad weather, we’ll be in the cinema!

October is an interesting month for movie fans.

Not only are things getting closer to Oscar season, so you’ll have the early arrivals for the awards magnets, but it is also heading towards Halloween, so there should also be one or two scary movies on the horizon.

And chances are, if you’re a proper movie fan, you’ll want to see them all.

If you haven’t heard of it yet, the new MyOmniPass from Omniplex Cinemas entitles subscribers to one ticket to every standard movie, 10% off your cinema goodies, 10% off any extra tickets purchased online for your friends, free upgrades of MyOmniPass tickets to the MAXX and Recline shows, and exclusive screenings just for MyOmniPass members.

So, yeah, you’d get to see all nine of these movies for less than €20 a month!

JOKER (Friday 4 October)

We don’t really need to tell you anything more about this, do we?

JUDY (Friday 4 October)

Renée Zellweger plays the iconic Judy Garland in the last few years of her professional life, including a sold-out series of concerts in London.

You. Will. Cry.

GEMINI MAN (Thursday 10 October)

Current day Will Smith finds himself going to war with CGI-de’aged Will Smith, in an assassin versus cloned assassin action thriller from Ang Lee (The Life Of Pi) and Jerry Bruckheimer (The Rock).

ABOMINABLE (Friday 11 October)

When a young girl finds a yeti has been secretly living in her home, she and her friends decide to take it upon themselves to bring it back to the Himalayas, but some shady government folk want to try to capture it first.

MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL (Friday 18 October)

The sequel to hugely successful retelling of Sleeping Beauty, focusing on the evil witch (here played to perfection by Angelina Jolie). This time around, Maleficent wants to stop a wedding, because Michelle Pfeiffer will be her even-more-evil… sister-in-law? Family stuff can be so complicated.

ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP (Friday 18 October)

The original fab four are back – Harrelson, Eisenberg, Stone, and Breslin – with new additions such as Rosario Dawson and Luke Wilson joining in on surviving against an evolved zombie horde.

OFFICIAL SECRETS (Friday 18 October)

Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes, Matthew Goode, Rhys Ifans, and Matt Smith star in this political thriller revolving around a whistleblower attempting to expose a government for lying to the public in order to get away with doing whatever they please. Sound familiar…?

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE (Wednesday 23 October)

Arnie and Linda Hamilton are back for this time-travelling sci-fi action thriller, which sees another cyborg assassin attempting to change the course of the future by killing someone from the past. This one comes from the director of Deadpool, and the action looks pretty HUGE.

COUNTDOWN (Friday 25 October)

In the days leading up to Halloween, we all need one good scare, and this looks like it will be this year’s supplier of screams, as a group of attractive folk find that an app is accurately predicting when they’re all going to die. And some of them are going to die very soon…
