OFFICIAL: Season 2 of Dirty John will be made

Paul Moore

Dirty John Season 2

Great news for fans of the Netflix hit.

Fresh from Joe’s stalking escapades in You, Netflix’s release of Dirty John seemed like it was perfectly timed because the adaptation of the beloved podcast proved to be a massive hit.

Granted, true crime will always have an audience but it also helped that the show boasted a strong cast with the likes of Eric Bana, Connie Britton, and Juno Temple in the leads.

This being said, some of the events that unfolded did leave us screaming ‘WTF are you doing?!?!’ at our TV screens.

Well, if you’re itching for more, you’ll be happy to know that Bravo has issued a another season in the anthology series, as reported by Deadline.

However, the new season will be a ‘different and self-contained story’. Makes sense.

In case you haven’t seen the show, the plot for the show is based on Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard’s true crime podcast which focused on Newport Beach interior designer and single mother Debra Newell (Connie Britton) who falls for a con man that’s posing as a doctor named John Meehan (Eric Bana).

Ultimately, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out where this is going as secrets, lies, manipulation, violence, and ultimately, survival, all come to the fore.

With regards to the specific story that was depicted in Dirty John, fans might also be pleased to know that there’s also going to be a new docuseries that will investigate the real life John Meehan through the eyes of those he deceived.

At present, no premiere date has been announced for these two new features.
