365 Days This day

It’s one of the most sexually explicit films on Netflix right now.

Netflix recently released a sequel to the hit film, 365 Days, as part of the 2022 Netflix movie schedule.

Towards the end of April, Netflix released its sequel to the surprise hit when it unveiled 365 Days: This Day, and it’s safe to say the critical verdict has not exactly been kind to the new release.

However, that has not stopped viewers tuning into the new movie in droves as it has appeared in the Top Ten on Netflix consistently since its release.

The original 365 Days was based on the Polish novel of the same name by author Blanka Lipińska, and caused controversy due to some of its themes, including allegations of glorifying sexual abuse and also Stockholm Syndrome.

The basic plot of the original revolves around mafia lord Massimo who kidnaps Laura and holds her captive on his estate and gives her a year’s time to fall in love with him.

The new movie, 365 Days: This Day, begins as Laura and Massimo are about to get married – yes, you can see why people are upset about the overall direction of the film – but further complications arise.

Putting aside the troubling plot, the movie has been panned by critics with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 0% rating. Although in the interests of fairness, just ten critic reviews have been registered for the film so far.

But, other reviews have also not been kind with The Variety review called it ‘piping hot trash’.

While RogerEbert.com said: “365 Days: This Day is barely a movie. It’s the emotionally bankrupt ID of late capitalism, a braindead miasma of choreographed sex.”
