It kicks off at lunchtime!

Following on from the Golden Globes, we can imagine there will be all eyes on today’s announcements to see if any of the recent developments in Hollywood will have any kind of effect on the awards themselves.

Additionally, while the nominations ceremony tends to go off without a hitch, let us never forget that one time when Dick Pope, the cinemtographer for Mr. Turner, had his name unfortunately mispronounced back in 2015:

The nominations will begin at 5.20am in Los Angeles, hosted by Andy Serkis and Girls Trip star Tiffany Haddish, with the all-girl line-up of Priyanka Chopra, Rosario Dawson, Gal Gadot, Salma Hayek, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Saldana, Molly Shannon, Rebel Wilson and Michelle Yeoh also on-hand for some as-yet-unannounced reason.

The means it will be broadcast at 8.20am in New York, which puts it to 1.20pm in this time-zone.

You can watch it live right from the live Oscars nominations stream right here:
