Parasite is coming to loads more Irish cinemas following Oscar success

Parasite Ireland

Fresh off the back of its incredible Oscar success, Parasite will be coming to lots more cinemas in Ireland.

In the early hours of Monday morning, South Korean comedy/horror/drama/thriller Parasite shocked the world when it was given the Best Picture award at the Oscars.

It was expected that 1917 had this particular award wrapped up, but to the delight of many, Parasite got the win.

Director Bong Joon-ho also picked up Best Director, while it also got the nod for Best Screenplay and Best Foreign Language Film.

A decent haul, you’d have to say.

And despite its now massive international success, there will likely be plenty of Irish people who are yet to see the film, due to its relatively limited screening availability.

Well, if you haven’t seen the movie, we’ve got some good news for you – 11 new cinemas in Ireland will be showing the movie from this week on.

Omniplex announced the news on Monday, meaning it will now be showing on 14 Omniplex cinemas around the country.

Tickets will go on sale at lunchtime this Wednesday (13 February), with more information being available here.

You can read JOE’s glowing review (where we recommend going into the movie knowing as little about it as possible) of Parasite here.
