Production on Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty suspended indefinitely

Bad news for fans of two of BBC's biggest shows...

Production on the latest seasons of both Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty has been suspended until further notice, a BBC spokesperson has announced. The move comes in response to the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus, with the popular shows marking the latest in a growing list of high-profile entertainment projects that have been affected by the outbreak. Production on season six of Line of Duty got underway in Northern Ireland in February. Peaky Blinders had to yet to begin shooting its next season. "In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, the producers – Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions – of Peaky Blinders S6 have postponed filming, and World Productions on Line of Duty S6 have suspended filming, both in consultation with and supported by the BBC,” a spokesperson told the Guardian on Monday. "We will continue to review all productions on a case-by-case basis and will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the Foreign Office, World Health Organisation and Public Health England." In recent weeks, the likes of Fast and Furious 9, No Time to Die and A Quiet Place Part II were all forced to reschedule their release dates due to coronavirus concerns.
