It’s time to dig in… by order of the Peaky Blinders!
After all the waiting and suspense, we finally got our first extended look at Season 5 of Peaky Blinders and it did not disappoint.
With such an action-packed trailer to get through, it’s likely that some details may have slipped under your radar.
On that note, here’s our deep dive on the return of the Shelbys.
#1. Tommy’s in trouble
Right from the very off, it appears that the Peaky Blinders are under attack as Tommy sees someone being crucified while wearing one of their very notable caps.
#2. Part of the family?
Lizzie has consistently been a key player in the show but after she became pregnant with Tommy’s child in Season 4, it’s likely that she’ll be even closer to the Shelby family than ever.
As you can see, she’s walking the walk with Small Heath’s most powerful players.
#3. A sign of power
Notice the painting of Tommy in the background? We reckon this is a look at his new office in Westminster.
The perks of being an MP, eh?
#4. By order of the Peaky Blinders!
We’re speculating here, but notice the name of the other whiskey company that’s branded on the door?
Perhaps Arthur is here to do a bit of ‘corporate intimidation’ to ensure The Shelby Company stays dominant.
Will there be blood? Probably!
#5. Michael amour?
Here’s the first glimpse of Anya Taylor-Joy’s (The Witch, Split) new character.
Perhaps a love interest for Michael?
#6. PTSD
It appears that Tommy’s PTSD from the war – something that was strongly depicted in the Season 4 finale – is here to stay.
#7. The latest Shelby
As mentioned previously, Tommy and Lizzie are expecting a child.
Perhaps the new season will jump ahead by a few years and if so, we could be looking at Tommy’s daughter?
#8. From the bench
As seen a few weeks ago, we got our first look at Tommy in Parliament.
Perhaps this is his first address to the floor?
#9. Sam the man
Meet Sam Claflin’s new character and antagonist for Tommy Shelby, Oswald Mosley, the leader of the British Union of Fascists.
#10. Forever a gypsy boy
Tommy might be making some new friends in Westminster but he’ll always be a gypsy boy at heart.
We’ve a feeling that he’s meeting with Aberama Gold’s men here and on that note, it appears that the romance between Aberama and Polly is blossoming.
#11. Tommy’s a marked man
As seen earlier, it appears that the crucifixion of this Peaky Blinder was a trap to draw Tommy in.
As we all know, he’s usually got a plan but the violence is escalating and it appears that another character is in grave danger.
Notice the haircut on the person that Tommy’s cradling below.
While we’re waiting for official confirmation about a premiere date, we think that another look at the trailer for Peaky Blinders Season 5 is in order.
Bring it on!
