“There’s God, and there are the Peaky Blinders” — Season 5 trailer is here

Peaky Blinders season five trailer

“Sometimes, death is a kindness.”

The Peaky Blinders are back.

On Tuesday afternoon, the BBC dropped a minute-long trailer for season give that has us absolutely gagging for the return of the Shelby family.

The trailer also gives us our first look at Hunger Games star Sam Claflin, who will play fascist politician Oswald Mosley. Mosley became the leader of the British Union of Fascists in the 1930s.

In the trailer, it seems that Mosley has taken an interest in none other than our own Tommy Shelby. We can see that ending in tears.

The fifth season is looking cinematic as ever. Slow motion walks down the cobblestones, guns drawn, explosions, and Tommy firing a machine gun at a crucifix.

It’s gonna be good… And now we know it’s “coming soon.” Still no set date yet, though.

As for the plot of season five, we’re told that the new season of Peaky Blinders will be set in the aftermath of the Wall Street Crash where “opportunity and misfortune” are everywhere.

“When Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation,” offers the official synopsis.
