People are absolutely loving watching Love Island

Alan Loughnane

Really?

Love Island is proving to be a big hit with the people of Ireland and the UK, and no matter how many people tell you the hate the show, the figures show that at least some of them are lying.

On 3e, the show has attracted an audience of over 100,000 viewers for its recent episodes.

It’s the fourth series of the show but it’s showing no signs in slowing down in popularity in both the UK and Ireland, we’re just waiting for someone to try and Irish version of the show where the chances are you’ll personally know at least seven members of the show.

The series has ITV2’s highest ever viewership, as more than four million people tuned into the opening episode of the new series.

For those of you who have genuinely never watched it (wink wink), the show pits bikini clad women with topless men and they all attempt to mate with one another find love.

105,100 people watched the first episode on 3e this year and that figure rose even further to just under 150,000 when all those who recorded the show or watched it later were added to the numbers.

For those of you who can’t stand the sight of the show, the bad news is that the show is only in its second week and there’s a full eight weeks of it altogether.
