Ploughing Championships

The magic of the Ploughing Championships…

The Ploughing Championships were cancelled on Wednesday due to the danger posed by Storm Ali, but will go ahead again on Thursday providing the weather permits.

But while there were those disappointed that day two of the ploughing didn’t take place, one girl from Galway was absolutely over the moon that day one was unaffected.

Caoimhe from Oranmore only attended the first day for one reason… to meet her hero and idol, Ryan Tubridy.

While the RTÉ cameras were running outside their tent, she was heard shouting to Ryan and attracted the attention of the crew.

What followed was a lovely moment from Ryan who greeted his number one fan with class.

In her own words, Caoimhe has no interest whatsoever in the ploughing.

“I really only came here today to see him,” she said. “I’m not joking. I’m from the city, I don’t know anything about farming.”

She got her wish, and she wasn’t disappointed.
