Oscar Isaac on the future of Poe Dameron and returning to the galaxy

Paul Moore

Poe Dameron

The Rise of Skywalker might not be his last adventure.

Roguish, impulsive, hard to handle, hot-headed, a maverick that’s difficult to tame, but ultimately, a genius when he’s in the cockpit.

Yep, Han Solo was one charming scruffy-looking nerf herder that captured the hearts of Star Wars fans around the galaxy.

The same can be said about Oscar Isaac’s dashing take on the best damn pilot in The Resistance, Poe Dameron, in the most recent Star Wars trilogy.

Spoiler alert warning, we’re getting into The Rise of Skywalker discussion now.

Throughout the course of Episode IX, Dameron goes on one hell of a journey as he ascends to the rank of General, undertakes another epic journey with Rey and Finn, gets the best visual gag in the series – the ‘light’ saber, anyone? – and takes on the entire might of The Emperor’s new deadly fleet of Star Destroyers.

All in a day’s work!

Well, when JOE caught up with Oscar Isaac to chat about The Rise of Skywalker, we had to ask him if Poe will be getting back into the flight suit again? Truth be told, we don’t care of he’s flying an X-Wing, The Millennium Falcon, a First Order Tie Fighter, or even something as simple as a speeder, we need more of Poe.

Dear Disney, please make a Finn and Poe spinoff. You know it makes sense!

Anyway, here’s what the star of Ex Machina and Annihilation had to say about the potential of seeing more of Poe to the galaxy that’s far, far away.

“Yeah, it’s on DVD and Disney +,” joked Isaac but when pushed on a potential return, he said “I don’t know. At the moment, I can’t imagine it but you know,  I’ll see how my financial situation is!”

You can check out JOE’s interview with Oscar Isaac and J.J Abrams below.
