Lots of people were wondering and the director has a definite answer. Imagine dying that way though!

Let it not be said that we're refusing to cover every aspect of film journalism when it comes to the brilliant new horror, A Quiet Place. As stated in our review, John Krasinski's film is the best horror of the last decade because aside from the nerve-shredding setpieces and strong performances, the plot is so clever. The story revolves around a family of four that must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threatens their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you. Basically, if you make a sound, you die. As stated previously, the film is so tense that audiences are refusing to eat their popcorn and with talk of a sequel gathering pace, it looks like we're going back to A Quiet Place very soon. Aside from the brilliant reviews and impressive box-office returns, plenty of people left the cinema wondering about one thing...farting. Given the fact that these monsters can hear you from miles away, we hope that the characters in the film fart silently and on that flatulent note, plenty of people are saying the exact same things. 1) How did the characters fart and, 2) If they were in the film, they'd probably die after letting one rip. https://twitter.com/markellislive/status/979535307203756032 https://twitter.com/highbank1/status/983475442739855360 https://twitter.com/katelyne_m/status/983960426781093889 https://twitter.com/ADDelgiacco/status/983788693403058176 https://twitter.com/anthony_kitch/status/983684502164779009 https://twitter.com/ChillPeel_/status/983567732087107584 Well, in an interview with Empire, John Krasinki said that he did think about this dilemma and that it was Noah Jupe, who plays Marcus in the film, that gave him the answer. “He was our sounding board for a lot of this. He said, what happens if we need to cough? And I said, well you guys would know to pick up a pillow and cough into the pillow […] I only imagine now little Noah putting a pillow on his behind and farting into a pillow, knowing that it would save his life. Just try to crop-dust, as long as they're not loud and violent you're going to be fine.” There you have it. If anyone lives in the world of A Quiet Place, your farts better be silent because they'll definitely be deadly. Anyways, we're fairly certain that Emily Blunt and John Krasinki didn't fart when they caught up with JOE's Rory Cashin to chat about the film.
