Living at home with your parents? RTÉ’s This Crowded House might want you for its second series

Michael Lanigan

This Crowded House

Are you a part of the ‘boomerang generation’?

With the cost of rent rising nationwide, while the property market faces its own major crisis, young adults are being left with no other option but to move back into the family home.

In 2018, one in four people between the ages of 25 and 34 are still living with their parents, and that situation has largely remained the same in the past few years.

If you’re among those with whom that situation resonates – the so-called ‘boomerang generation’ – then you might be interested to know that the RTÉ2 series, This Crowded House is currently taking applications for its second season.

Hosted by Brendan Courtney, the series is looking for people in their 20s, 30s and even 40s who are still stuck living in such a situation.

Offered the chance to tell their stories and seek expert advice on financial planning, This Crowded House is aiming to help struggling Irish people to move out and live independently, whether through renting, house sharing or buying property.

If you want to appear on the show, the application is available here and should be emailed to [email protected]. For more information call 01 7088181.
