EXCLUSIVE: Scarlett Johansson and Paul Rudd reveal they don’t fully know how Avengers: Endgame is going to play out

They also discuss some of the craziest fan theories they’ve heard so far.

In the run-up to the release of Avengers: Endgame, there is definitely an eerie similarity to how the world went a little bit nuts trying to figure out the end of Lost.

With so many people guessing how things might turn out, and how things get there, the world is clambering over itself trying to beat the movie to its own punchline.

However, as Scarlett Johansson correctly points out when JOE sat down to chat to her and her Endgame co-star Paul Rudd, you don’t really want to know.

Not really. Not until you’re actually there, in the cinema screen, and letting the whole thing wash over you.

But that hasn’t stopped the entire world from guessing, and it certainly hasn’t stopped the cast from enjoying those guessing games.

“It is kinda fun to see all of the theories that people have,” Paul Rudd says, smiling, “and they think they’ve cracked something.”

Obviously there is that gross butt one – which doesn’t make any sense: why would Ant-Man go up Thanos’ butt and then regrow, when he could put LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE up there instead? – but they are careful not to discount anything yet, in case it helps narrow the scope of the guessing game.

Johansson then goes on to reveal that the cast don’t even know for sure how the whole thing will turn out: “We don’t even really know, actually. We only get pages for what we’re shooting right then with the other actor. This is all shrouded in mystery, even for us.”

Rudd agrees: “It is kinda fun for us too, because you don’t normally get to work on a movie, and we haven’t seen it, and when we do see it we’re going to be surprised and in a way we’re going to see it as audience members see it, to a certain extent.”
