Rumour has it that Daniel Craig is stepping down as James Bond

Carl Kinsella

The end of an era.

Daniel Craig has played the iconic role of James Bond for over a decade now, first assuming the part in 2005. Since then he has made four Bond titles – Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre – generation over £2billion in box office revenue.

Today, the internet is flush with rumours that Daniel Craig has rejected a £68 million deal to reprise his role as 007 in two more movies.

According to the Daily Mail, one LA film source said: ‘Daniel is done – pure and simple – he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.’

If true, the race for the next Bond is on and Tom Hiddelston, also known as Loki from the Marvel universe, is the bookies current first choice.

We’d still like to see Idris Elba give it a go but it’s starting to feel like that ship has sailed…
