Quite a pairing…

Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell are reportedly in talks to develop a new musical “reimagining” of Charles Dickens’s iconic 1843 tale, A Christmas Carol.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds and Ferrell will star while Sean Anders and John Morris, who recently penned the script for Daddy’s Home 2, will write and direct the adaptation.

There’s no word so far on what roles the two might play in the movie but interestingly, this will be the first time since 1999 that the duo appear in the same film.

While Ferrell has had a mixed bag as of late and the lack of success of Holmes and Watson won’t help matters, but Ferrell with Christmas movies will always be given the benefit of the doubt because of the success of Elf.

Reynolds is a much-vaunted man in Hollywood at the minute and has number of projects in the works including Michael Bay‘s action movie 6 Underground on Netflix and and a sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard.

A Christmas Carol tells the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge who, after being visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, changes his ways.
