Season 5 of Peaky Blinders draws closer and we’ve got a very good idea of the premiere date

Peaky Blinders Season 5 premiere

Not long to go…by order of the Peaky Blinders!

We’ve been told that the director is getting closer to the end, the show’s creator has said that Season 5 is ‘honestly the best one yet,’ and we’ve even got our first glimpse at Tommy Shelby in his new role as an MP at Westminster.

As for the plot of Season 5, we’re told that the new season of Peaky Blinders will be set in the aftermath of the Wall Street Crash where “opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.”

However, one big detail is still missing, the date that the first episode of Season 5 will be shown by the BBC.

Well, it appears that there isn’t too long to wait because a select bunch of fans will be able to see the episode before anyone else. On 18 July, fans in Birmingham can watch the first episode before anyone else because the world premiere will be taking place at Birmingham Town Hall.

While this isn’t an official announcement about the premiere date, it’s an extremely good sign that fans won’t have to wait long until the first episode of Season 5 airs on BBC1.

For example, the exclusive red carpet event for the world premiere of Season 4 took place on 30 October, 2017. In terms of the first episode of Season 4 airing for the world to see, that one was broadcast on 15 November, 2017.

Using that same timeline, planning, and logic, it’s very likely that the first episode of Peaky Blinders Season 5 will air on the last week of July, or the first week of August.

At this point, it’s worth noting that nothing official has been confirmed by the BBC, but it’s the best indicator that we’ve got so far.

If you’re in Birmingham and fancy heading to the world premiere, tickets will be released via the BBC Shows and Tours website  here .
