Sex Education Season 2

The fantastic comedy is back and here’s the first look.

With 2019 coming to a close, it appears that various stations and streaming platforms have gone all out in the final quarter with new releases.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen the likes of Watchmen and His Dark Materials being released; however, we reckon that You and The Witcher are going to be the big draw over the Christmas season.

Apart from those, there are plenty of shows to look forward to in 2020 and Sex Education is definitely one that has piqued our interest because the first season was so strong.

If you’ve never seen the show before, it revolves around Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield), a socially awkward high school student who lives with his sex therapist mother, Jean (Gillian Anderson).

In Season 1, Otis and his friend Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey) set-up a sex clinic at school to capitalise on his intuitive talent for sex advice.

However, in Season 2, as a late bloomer, Otis must master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola (Patricia Allison) whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve. Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a Chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex education at the school and new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo.

Elsewhere, the plot synopsis states: “Maeve and Aimee’s BFF relationship is stronger than ever since Aimee ditched ‘the Untouchables’. Eric notices his new-found self-confidence attracting unfamiliar kinds of attention. Adam is at military school, still conflicted by his feelings for Eric. Lily has hit pause on her sexual endeavours to focus on her creative talents and finds a new found friend in Ola. Jackson is forced to flex his mental rather than physical muscle and is still buckling under the pressure from his parents to succeed.”

Basically, there is a lot going on.

Netflix have confirmed that Sex Education will return with eight brand new episodes in 2020. However, no specific date has been announced just yet.

To tide fans over, Netflix have provided some images to give us our first glimpse at what’s in store.
