Gun control is perhaps the most serious issue in America at the moment. The most recent tragic incident took place in Florida, where 17 people were killed in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School by a school shooter. This was the 18th school shooting of 2018 so far.
So it's fairly obvious that this is a problem that needs to be solved as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
Meanwhile, the NRA is using this time to use light-hearted memes and gifs to congratulate their chosen defender Dana Loesch for speaking out about how Americans should be able to carry a firearm. The tweet in question features a gif from the popular show Parks and Recreation, starring Amy Poheler.

Despite the clear insensitivity of tweeting in such a light manner when there is such a serious matter to be discussed, the NRA also made the mistake of referencing a show that really did not reflect their views. The co-creator of the show responded, and included a message from star of the show Amy Poehler, and it is great.

But it didn't stop there. Nick Offerman who plays the iconic character of Ron Swanson also had a powerful message to send to the National Rifle Association.

And everyone's favourite TV nerd Ben Wyatt even chimed in. Actor Adam Scott's message was a simple, but powerful one.

That'll teach them not to mess with Leslie Knope.
