This sounds very promising.
Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg is shooting a new horror movie in Wicklow.
The film, which is titled
The Turning, began shooting around Kilruddery Estate and will star Black Mirror actress Mackenzie Davis and Finn Wolfhard, who played Mike in Stranger Things.
Spielberg is acting as an executive producer, but he is reported to be heavily involved in the filming alongside director, Floria Sigismondi, who has previously worked on an episode of The Handmaid's Tale, in addition to music videos for David Bowie and The White Stripes.
While details have remained scarce, Sigismondi has also been dropping small hints on
her Instagram that locations were being scouted on the east coast of Ireland last month.
It has been reported in the Wicklow Voice that Spielberg is staying at the Druid's Glen Hotel while working on the film.
Spielberg's next likely blockbuster,
Ready Player One, is also due out in theatres on 29 March; the film stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg and T.J. Miller.
