Takeshi’s Castle is returning to TV

Kyle Picknell

The greatest TV show in the entire world is back.

Comedy Central UK has announced that a brand new series of Takeshi’s Castle will be sprinting face-first into your television screen next month.

Alas, there is no Craig Charles, the former star of Red Dwarf and Coronation Street star who narrated a previous iteration of the show, with Roman Kemp, son of Martin Kemp (of Eastenders and Spandau Ballet fame) taking over hosting duties from Jonathan Ross.

Kemp will be joined on each episode by a ‘celebrity’ guest (including Martin Kemp) who will assist in commentary duties, most of whom come from the worlds of comedy and reality TV.

All of that is largely irrelevant, however, as while the commentary adds plenty to the proceedings, we’re just looking forward to seeing more of this type of thing…

Takeshi’s Castle Indonesia begins on Comedy Central UK on 22 November at 8pm.
