Another teenager was injured in the crash.

One male teenager has died and another has been injured after a pick-up truck crash in Kildare yesterday evening (Thursday, 5 June).

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the single-vehicle collision on Barrettstown Road, Newbridge shortly after 8pm.

The passenger, an adult male in his late teens, was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The Coroner has been informed.

The male driver, aged in his teens, was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries have been reported.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

A Garda spokesperson said: "Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 7.45pm and 8.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Newbridge Garda Station on (045) 440180, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

"Investigations are ongoing."
