The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star has weighed in on the subject.

Kevin Hart recently stepped down as host of the 2019 Oscars, following the unearthing of homophobic tweets that were posted by the comedian a number of years ago.

He then appeared on Ellen, and claimed that he was the victim of an “attack” from the people who found his tweets, which has sparked this recent response from actor Terry Crews.

Crews insisted that Hart should hold himself accountable for his actions, saying: “The truth is, Kevin, you’re not being attacked. The truth is you have to just acknowledge what went on and acknowledge the pain of other people. That’s all anybody’s asking for. That’s it.”

While speaking to Buzzfeed, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star said that “He feels like he’s being attacked, but the truth is, he’s not.”

Earlier on Thursday, we shared the news that the 2019 Oscars would be going ahead without a host for the first time since 1989.

Instead, the ceremony will consist of a number of A-listers coming out for short mini-hosting gigs, instead of one overall host, and will have more of a “variety show” vibe.
