The brilliant TV show Vikings are looking for thousands of extras for filming in Ireland

Paul Moore

Now is your chance to be a star.

Right now, Ireland is the preferred destination for major Hollywood productions – you may have heard about two “small” franchises called Game of Thrones and Star Wars that are currently filming in the 32 counties- but the Emerald Isle has a very prestigious list of other productions that have filmed here in recent years.

The Tudors, Penny Dreadful and Vikings are just some of the other titles that have been shot on our shores, but if you fancy appearing on TV then now’s your chance.

Season 5 of Vikings is set to start production very soon and they’re looking for thousands of people, from all ethnic backgrounds, to fill a variety of positions.

There are some conditions though. You must live locally and be over 16-years-old to apply. The creators are looking for full time residents in Ireland, with a working visa and PPS number, but they’ve got a variety of roles in mind for successful candidates.

If you happen to know anyone that fancies themselves as any of the following then give them a shout, because the producers are looking to fill the roles of;

Fishermen, carpenters, craftspeople, farm workers, axe men/women, skilled swords people, archers, bowmen & women, sailors, musicians, nurses and many, many more.

The producers are also encouraging male applicants to grow beards and let their hair go long. Good news then for any man that has a bit of facial fuzz.
