The new host will start on November 13
This Morning have officially confirmed their new host of the popular show.
The ITV daytime programme have been searching for a replacement ever since Holly Willoughby made the decision to quit the show.
They have since confirmed that Cat Deeley, who has been described as a “seasoned pro” will join the show and will start on November 13. A source told The Mirror:
“She is comfortable interviewing both popstars and politicians, so if it goes well she could be a much more permanent solution to Holly leaving. Cat would be a safe captain to steady the ship.”
Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty a new TV power couple
Cat Deeley, who is married to Late Late Show host Patrick Kielty, is also reportedly set to be joined by Rylan Clark.
Willoughby stepped back from This Morning after 14 years on the show last month.
At the time, the 47-year-old released a statement saying she had made the decision “for me and my family”.
Cat Deeley met Patrick Kielty back in 2002 when the two did some work on the BBC’s Fame Academy. “We each had partners at the time and nothing went on,” Kielty told Tommy Tiernan, in 2022, “but there was a wee vibe there.”
The pair stayed in touch over the years and it was Kielty making a spur of the moment decision to fly to Los Angeles to catch up with Deeley that saw their relationship develop into a romantic one. They are now married with two sons, Milo and James.
