Well, then.
Having originated as an Internet meme back in 2009, the tall, thin spectral figure that is The Slender Man (or Slenderman, if you prefer) and characters inspired by his likeness has appeared in various forms of media including TV shows like Supernatural and, er, Law and Order: SVU.
First announced in 2016, Sony Pictures’ Slender Man is finally set to be unleashed on cinema screens, and the official trailer aims to get right under your skin.
Plot’s it all about? Well, it’s a supernatural horror movie so you can expect some familiar genre tropes that may or may not but probably will include jump scares and an aesthetic straight out of a Nine Inch Nails video.
The action takes place in a small town in Massachusetts as four high school girls perform a ritual (never the greatest idea, to be fair) in an attempt to debunk the lore of the titular ghoulish figure.
Smash cut to one of the girls vanishing mysteriously and an increasing dread that their experiment has conjured up something very real and very sinister indeed.
