“I see evil on this train.”

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Murder On The Orient Express.

Plot’s it all about?

Probably one of the most well-known authors, characters and stories of all time that very few people today would really have first-hand knowledge about, we’re about to get an all-star cast acting out Agatha Christie’s tale of her most famous detective, Hercule Poirot, as he attempts to deduce which of the thirteen suspects on board the lavish train committed murder.

Seriously though, look at that cast list! Plus Branagh himself is going behind the camera, having proven himself adept at big budget blockbusters with the first Thor movie.

Released right around the time when people start talking about Oscars, this looks exactly like the kind of thing that will wander home with Best Production Design and Best Costumes, that kind of stuff.

Although you never know, if Branagh plays his hand just right and gets the tone of the murder-mystery spot on, he could be looking at some of the bigger awards, too.

The only problem is this particular Agatha Christie tale has one of the most famous endings ever, so famous that people who haven’t even read the book (or seen the Oscar-winning, equally star-studded 1974 version) might already know it.

We’ll be curious to see if Branagh or the screenwriter will make any changes to it, because as well known as it may be, it is still a corker of a climax.

Starring: Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Penelope Cruz, Josh Gad, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench, Olivia Colman, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr.

Directed by: Kenneth Branagh

Irish release date: 3 November

Enjoy!
