“Feel the rhythm, feel the ride, get on up, it’s bobsled time.”

Two of the stars of one of the most popular sporting movies of all time, Cool Runnings, are coming to Dublin next Thursday, November 30.

Doug E. Doug, who played Sanka Coffie and Rawle D. Lewis, who played Junior Bevil, will be in town on the night to pay a visit to a custom-built ski lodge at Custom House Quay in Dublin’s IFSC, a partnership between Coors Light and Aprés Dublin.

Hard as it might be to believe, next year marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Cool Runnings, which documents the remarkable story of the Jamaican bobsled team that competed at the Winter Olympics in 1988.

The presence of two of the cast members will be the highlight of the launch of the ski lodge, where fans will be invited to #GRABLIFEBYTHEROCKIES and be given the opportunity to meet and pose for photos with the iconic actors, including the opportunity to get into an empty bathtub and recreate one of the movie’s most iconic scenes.

If fans ask nicely, meanwhile, Sanka may also let them kiss his egg, while Junior may be persuaded to recreate his memorable “I see pride, I see power” scene.

Making its debut in the capital, Après Dublin will comprise of the Après LODGE, a first-of-its-kind Christmas party venue in Dublin. The large-scale transformation will see the 900sqm event platform turned into a giant custom-built ski lodge in Dublin’s city centre.

The Après LODGE will offer food options alongside an in-house DJ and live Après Ski band, while other special music guests throughout Aprés Dublin’s run will include Attention Bebe, Reality Bites, Cosmic Funk, Smooth Sailor and Spring Break.

Après Dublin in association with Coors Light runs from November 30 – December 23.
