Netflix sensation Unbelievable is “likely” to be followed up on

Unbelievable Netflix

We could be getting more from one of the most-talked about shows of the year.

Unbelievable on Netflix made for one of the most difficult but most enthralling watches of 2019.

Inspired by real events, Unbelievable tells true story of Marie Adler (portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever), a young woman who was bound and raped by a masked man in her home over a decade ago.

Based on The Marshall Project and Pro Publica Pulitzer Prize-winning article, An Unbelievable Story of Rape, the story has fascinated viewers, and it looks like we could be getting more stories of a similar nature.

According to Deadline, “the idea of a follow-up is likely to be revisited in light of its ratings success and awards attention”.

Interesting. They also said that nothing concrete has been confirmed as of yet, but that due to the show’s popularity, a follow-up is expected in some capacity.

There has been talks of the show continuing as an anthology series ever since it was released, but based on recent ratings statistics, it seems even more likely.

The series was viewed by 32 million households in its first four weeks on the platform, Netflix confirmed on Thursday.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this.

Unbelievable is available to watch on Netflix now.
