Well, technically, there are no spoilers because it is an alternate ending after all, but you’ll have want to have seen the episode before you set eyes on this masterpiece.
Because we’ve already issued the spoiler alert, we don’t mind saying that the most recent episode was up there with the most shocking in the history of the show to date. As Game of Thrones fans will know, that’s saying a lot.
In case those of you who have seen it needed reminding, Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne – who in just eight episodes had become easily one of the most likeable characters in the show – met his maker in mind-blowing fashion (literally mind-blowing) after becoming a little too cocky during his battle with Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane, a battle staged to determine the fate of Tyrion Lannister.
Though nobody in their right mind could complain that it was boring, the episode left a bitter after-taste for some fans, because of the death of one of the most popular characters – Prince Oberyn – and the impending death of another – Tyrion Lannister - not to mention the rather gruesome manner of Prince Oberyn’s death.
With that in mind, YouTube user Ozzy Man has come up with a far more pleasant alternate conclusion to the episode, including happier resolutions for both Tyrion and Prince Oberyn, an uplifting soundtrack and even a Braveheart reference shoehorned in for good measure.
We think we prefer this one to be honest.
