Well, this is awkward…

You might think of them as irrelevant or a big waste of time but it’s often the case that an awful lot or work by an awful lot of people goes into an attempt to break the various categories in the Guinness World Record Books.

Such was the case at the Discovery Science Centre in Santa Ana, California recently when a considerable crowd gathered to try and break the World Record for the amount of people contained in a single bubble at once or at least we think that’s what they were at.

As if reporter David Nazar’s terrible attempt at a bubble pun wasn’t bad enough – unbubble-lievable? Even we wouldn’t inflict that on our readers – he then went and ruined the world record attempt by stumbling on the spot where the bubble was going to originate from and stopped the exercise before it even got going.

Nazar’s clumsiness was met with angry looks by many people present, not least the bubble-master himself, and if there ever was a case of a bubble being burst in the literal and metaphorical sense, then this was certainly it.

That’s some incredibly awkward live television right there.
