Video: Every death featured in the Lord of the Rings trilogy is here and it’s wonderfully violent

Three movies, nine hours long and over 200,000 deaths. Yeah!

Three movies, over nine hours long and over 200,000 deaths? F**k yeah!

JOE will always love the Lord of the Rings trilogy because Peter Jackson somehow managed to make an epic action film that combined breathtaking scenery with some brilliant characters. Plus the book is precisely 9 million pages long so he did well to edit it down.

The trilogy was also helped by the fact that they had walking and talking trees that knew how to lay the smack down on some orc ass. We like trees.

Lord of the Rings fans will know that The Hobbit: the Battle of The Five Armies is looking more and more likely of being Peter Jackson’s last foray into Middle Earth so we’ve decided to look at some of the series’ most violent moments.

Here’s a brief clip of some brilliant deaths by axe, sword, arrow, door, horse, dagger, shield, tree, oliphant, warg, cave troll, spear, rock, strangulation, incineration and more.

It’s not Christmas without a trip to Middle Earth.
