Video: Living legend Bill Murray and Irish actor Chris O’Dowd star in the first trailer for St. Vincent

We wish Bill Murray would be our curmudgeonly old mentor.

We wish Bill Murray would be our curmudgeonly old mentor.

Jaeden Lieberher is one lucky sonofab*tch.

The young actor has been cast alongside none other than living legend and JOE hero, Bill Murray, in St. Vincent, a film written and directed by Theodore Melfi. The official blurb for the film explains that St. Vincent is about “a young boy whose parents have just divorced and who finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic, war veteran who lives next door.”

That’s all well and good Mr Official Blurb, but what we really care about here at JOE is Bill f*ckin’ Murray. And sure look it, there’s Chris O’Dowd starring as an Irish priest which, if you’ve seen Calvary, is a slightly disturbing turn of events…

The film also co-stars funny lady Melissa McCarthy and a pole dancing, hoovering Naomi Watts and, although it looks a wee bit cheesy, fuzzy and warm, we can assure you that, with a cast like that on board, JOE will be first in line when the film is released next October.

OK, so maybe we won’t be first in line to see it, but we’ll definitely go and see it the following weekend or something. If we’re free…
