This could be one of the most expensive ads ever made.
It looks like a film trailer and could well be a sequel to Robert de Niro and Martin Scorsese’s last collaboration – Bobby even gives it the old Casino stare – but it’s actually an ad for the City of Dreams Manila casino.
De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio are competing for the same part, with Marty as the moderator.
While the two actors have appeared on screen together before in This Boy’s Life, they’ve yet to share a screen under the guidance of Scorsese despite the fact that the director has worked extensively with both in separate eras.
This is short and sweet, but ultimately just a tease for a film that needs to be made.
It also cost more than $70m and is part of a longer cut that will premiere in mid-2015.
