When the host of The Late Show on CBSÂ resurrected his old alter-ego Stephen (affects a French accent) Colbert last week, Stephen (just plain old) Colbert was told by faceless corporate lawyers that he couldn’t use his old Comedy Central creation.
Luckily for viewers and fans of what was the classic Colbert Report, he had a very imaginative way around the whole thing.
(If you ever wondered how ‘identical twin cousins’ could possibly exist, look no further.)
Oh, and watch this all the way through for an excellent, subtle reference to the person that many people really want to be the next President of the United States (albeit her name is, sadly, not on the ballot).
This is great.
