Rebellious teen, fantasy setting and special effects looks like a future bajillion-dollar franchise to us…

We think it’s safe to assume that most Hollywood writers are all reading from the same book entitled ‘How to write a sure fire box-office teen friendly smash hit film’; they really should have changed that title on that one.

Harry Potter, Twilight, Percy Jackson and The Hunger Games all seem to be tapping into the tweeny market and we have high hopes for George Clooney’s new film Tomorrowland, mainly because it’s directed by Brad Bird.

For those that don’t know, Bird was the man responsible for The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, Ratatouille and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol so he is pretty adept at creating exciting worlds and filling them with action.

There isn’t much given away in this teaser trailer – they love to tease us those trailer-making people – but what we do know is that the lead character Casey (Britt Robertson) gets whisked away to the imaginary realm of Tomorrowland after touching a magic totem.

This magic item instantly reminds us of the Portkey’s in Harry Potter, we’re big Pot(ter) heads here in JOE Towers.

During her stay in Tomorrowland she meets a scientific genius named Frank (George Clooney) and an adventure begins, at least we think there’s an adventure because what an anti-climax that that would be if all they did was sit around and drink tea.

Take a look.
