Video: Two stars of Airplane revisit numerous classic Airplane jokes in Wisconsin tourism ad

We’d just like to wish the two of them good luck with this ad, we’re all counting on them.

We’d just like to wish the two of them good luck with this ad, we’re all counting on them.

More than 30 years after its release, Airplane remains one of the funniest movies of all time and because it managed to cram in probably the most amount of jokes in the shortest amount of time in any movie ever made, those jokes are repeated to this day while rarely getting old.

Travel Wisconsin decided to exploit the lasting popularity of Airplane by roping in two of the stars of the movie, Robert Hays (Ted Striker) and former NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Roger Murdock), to revisit some of the most famous gags in the movie in a new ad promoting the state as a tourist destination and like pretty much every scene in the movie itself, nearly every sentence uttered is a joke of some sort.

While we can’t help but suspect that the two lads are phoning it into to a degree, it’s still nice to hear some of the old gags again and to remember what will deservedly go down as one of the funniest films ever made…
