Vin Diesel made more money than all of the other actors in 2017

He’ll never struggle to buy a Corona or a white vest again.

Vin Diesel made more money than you this year.

He also made more money than any other actor in the entire film industry.

Technically speaking, anyway.

According to business bible Forbes, Diesel can claim a cool $1.6 billion in ticketing receipts to his name, largely thanks to the gigantic success of The Fate of the Furious, or, as it’s known over here because we prefer to keep things simple; Fast and Furious 8.

The eighth instalment in the wildly popular, oddly fascinating and admirably diverse franchise has made approximately $1.236 billion at time of writing, and there’s still two more planned films to come.

Diesel, pictured above struggling to do the Gareth Bale heart celebration, just beat out Furious co-star and apparent rival The Rock, who takes the silver medal with $1.5 billion, though Jumanji is currently on release and should still rake in some green before 2017 is done.

Gal Gadot takes third place in the lucrative list with $1.4 billion generated worldwide, following the success of Wonder Woman and the less than spectacular Justice League.

So, a pretty good year for Vin Diesel, who also provided the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (not the most demanding role, admittedly) and resurrected Xander Cage for a third xXx movie in January, but we don’t know anyone who saw that so it probably shouldn’t count.
