Vincent Browne got quite the send-off on Thursday night.
Vincent Browne’s tenure as host of one of the great, late night political shows on Irish television came to an end on Thursday night and he signed off in typically modest fashion.
As he attempted to close the show with the minimum of fuss, Browne became aware of a group of singers gathering behind him on the studio floor.
“Ah jaysus,” he exclaimed, as the group started singing.
It ended with a song…From the Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir. Thanks to all those who watched, featured in & supported #vinb over the years pic.twitter.com/BWZbB5yW0a

Throughout his career, Browne has rubbed plenty of politicians and those in power up the wrong way, but he still managed to make Tonight With Vincent Browne essential viewing for anyone with even a passing interest in current affairs.
Following Thursday night’s broadcast, people took to Twitter to say goodbye to the Limerick man.
No. You're crying all over your morning coffee while reading about #vinb 's last show.

How good was Vincent Browne? Enda Kenny was running scared of him & refused to appear on his show to face his righteous anger. Unique. #vinb

I'll miss getting in late from Maynooth every night and sitting down to #vinb with my mam.
