Impeachment: American Crime Story looks sure to fill that political thriller void House of Cards left.

The first full trailer for the third season of anthology show American Crime Story has been released, which will focus on the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.

Titled Impeachment: American Crime Story, the show will see Clive Owen (Children of Men, The Knick) play Clinton and Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart, Lady Bird) take on the role of Lewinsky.

Hilary Clinton will be played by The Sopranos star Edie Falco, while actors Billy Eichner, Cobie Smulders, Margo Martindale and Sarah Paulson will also appear in the series.

The season is based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President and is executive produced by the prolific Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, Ratched).

American Crime Story’s first season revolved around O.J. Simpson’s trial for murder, while the second focused on the assassination of legendary fashion designer Gianni Versace.

Both are well worth a watch and are streaming on Irish Netflix now.

As for Impeachment: American Crime Story, the series will premiere in the US on 7 September on FX.

An Irish release date has yet to be announced. Check out the trailer below.
