”I’ll compromise you through that window.”

Derry Girls’ hotly-anticipated return to Irish telly is hitting our screens Thursday night at 10pm, and along with the 2.5 million people who checked it out last week – we can’t wait.

The one-minute clip showcases the tricky nature of ordering a takeaway in a full house.

And because this is 1990s Derry, the takeaway in question is obviously a fish and chips.

“Two bags won’t be enough,” comments Granda Joe. “Four. Four should cover us.”

“Three then,” Erin’s father replies. “We’ll compromise.”

“I’ll compromise you through that window.”

Following a huge response to the new Irish TV show of the moment, Derry Girls has been commissioned for a second series by Channel 4 after just one episode.

The new comedy is the broadcaster’s biggest comedy launch in almost five years, and is set to follow in the footsteps of Father Ted, The Inbetweeners and The IT Crowd.

Derry Girls returns to Channel 4 on Thursday, 11 January at 10pm.
