A Series of Unfortunate Events

Look away, look away.

Count Olaf is back and he’s out to get his hands on the Baudelaire fortune yet again, as Netflix has given us our first look at Season 3 of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

The third and final season will follow the last four books in the series — The Slippery Slope; The Grim Grotto; The Penultimate Peril; and The End. The trailer also features some very exciting moments that definitely don’t occur in the books.

Fans of the book series will know that it ended on a note that gave readers more questions than answers, which was always the author’s intention. Daniel Handler, writing under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket, was writing a series of books that parodied the over-the-top dramatic nature of most popular children’s literature.

So far, the show has followed the unfortunate events in the lives of the Baudelaire orphans as Neil Patrick Harris’ Count Olaf tries to steal their fortune. The stellar cast also includes Tony Hale, Patrick Warburton, Nathan Fillion and Lucy Punch.

Season 3 of the show will drop on 1 January, 2019.
