“From one flamethrower to another…”
You have to hand it to Katherine Waterston.
It’s no easy task to step into the ass-kicking, alien-killing string vest of one Sigourney Weaver, who, as Ellen Ripley, redefined what it meant to be weapon-wielding woman on the big screen…
When director Ridley Scott announced that he was to make a sixth film in the Alien saga (which we’ve ranked right here), a lot of fans may have thought, “get away from her, you bitch,” but it certainly looks like Scott is back on form with Alien: Covenant – great news for film fans, terrible news for the underpants of said film fans.
Fast forward 38 years on from Ripley’s devastating debut in 1979’s Alien, and it’s Waterston’s turn to take on some not-so-fantastic beasts as Daniels, a terraforming scientist aboard the ill-fated Covenant.
To mark the release of Alien: Covenant, JOE’s Paddy McKenna caught up with Michael Fassbender (who’s interview you can check out by clicking right here) and Katherine Waterston to talk “bodies ripping apart”, working with some incredible Irishmen and she reveals that none other than Sigourney Weaver sent her one of the coolest good luck emails of all time.
In space no one can hear you scream, but hopefully, if you’ve got the volume turned up, you’ll be able to hear this interview no bother.
Enjoy…
Got your breath back yet? Let’s see how you handle the full trailer in all its terrifying menace…
