WATCH: Trailer released for CG remake of Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back

Pokémon Mewtwo

Our nostalgia levels are gone into overdrive here.

There has been so many different iterations of Pokémon since it was created that it’s genuinely hard to keep track of it all.

But there will always be the originals, and that is the era of Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander.

And that era also saw the release of a Pokémon movie, cleverly entitled Pokémon: The First Movie.

You know the one. Mewtwo and the lads. Pikachu cries and brings Ash back to life. It is heartbreaking and INCREDIBLE.

And that exact movie is now being remade by Netflix in CG form, and it’s coming out quite soon.

Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back will be released on Netflix on 27 February.

The movie sees scientists genetically create a new Pokémon, Mewtwo, but the results are “horrific and disastrous”. It does make for great entertainment, however.

Take a look at the trailer here:

God, that brings back some good memories. Now where’s our Game Boy so we can play Pokémon Red?
