“Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two.”

Fans of Wednesday will be thrilled to hear the show is returning for a second season, writes Kat O’Connor. All those search engine visits for Wednesday season 2 will now have some fruitful results!

Netflix confirmed the record-breaking smash hit will return for a second season, only on Netflix.

There had been reports that the show may have switched to a different streaming service for its sophomore batch of episodes. This is because Wednesday was produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), which was recently acquired by Amazon for a whopping $8.45 billion – with the deal closing in March of last year.

As a result of this, there was talk that rights to Wednesday may go to Amazon, meaning its second season could premiere on Prime Video instead.

However, in an exclusive interview with Tudum.com Creators/Showrunners/Executive Producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said:

“It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world. Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two.”

Wednesday Season 2 on the way

The Wednesday showrunners told Tudum.com, “We can’t wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”

Season one of Wednesday aired on Netflix in November and quickly became one of the most popular shows of 2022.

Wednesday is now one of the most successful series ever on Netflix. It ranks #2 on the Most Popular (English) TV list with 1.237 Billion hours viewed within its first 28 days.

Over 182 million households have watched the series since it first made its debut on Netflix.

If you’ve been living under a rock and have not yet watched the show then why not tune in this weekend?

The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. Gwendoline Christie, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, and Emma Myers also star in the series.

No date has been confirmed but watch this space.
