These are the actors you’re looking for…

Sweet Jabba in heaven, this is the best Star Wars story we’ve heard since news broke that Jar Jar Binks (sort of) died this morning.

According to the BBC, the casting folk at Disney have hopefully turned their talent-spotting gaze to Ireland and the UK in their search for actors to play the lead roles for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars Episode VII.

Please excuse JOE while we excitedly puke into a bucket.

Sorry about that.

We say “hopefully” because the Press Release, which you can see below, was first tweeted by @ukopencall and calls for a young man and a young woman to star in a “Disney film” – an unnamed movie that everyone has now decided is most definitely the next installment of the Star Wars saga.

The hunt is on to cast ‘Thomas’ (please let it be Han Solo) and ‘Rachel’ (please let it also be Han Solo), the two characters who have been given the least Star Wars-y names of all time in an attempt to disguise the supposed true nature of the open audition. So all you fans of the Force should dust down your Darth robes and polish your lightsabers in the desperate hope that you might just be the lucky basta*d that the casting crew are looking for.

Just make sure you get yourself to Filmbase on Curved St, Dublin 2 on November 23rd and 24th from 10.30am – 2.30pm to be in with a cosmic chance.

To be fair though, you should probably give up now because this particular JOE is undoubtedly going to be cast in both roles. That’s right, both roles. Believe us, we’re that good.

Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to begin shooting at Pinewood Studios in spring 2014, for an expected 2015 release.

*More puking ensues*
