Mac Miller passed away last Friday.

Ariana Grande has shared an emotional tribute to Mac Miller, one week to the day after the sad and sudden death of popular American rapper.

Miller was found dead at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles having suffered an apparent drug overdose.

The musician had publicly struggled with addiction, and his passing at the age of just 26 years old has raised fresh questions about the music industry’s responsibility to those who power it.

Following last weekend’s news, Miller’s ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande posted a black and white photo of him to her Instagram page without a caption.

Grande currently has comments switched off on the social media platform, likely in a bid to suppress trolls who blame her for some apparent role in Miller’s death.

On Friday evening, the singer posted a video of Miller, along with some emotional words expressing her

“I adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will,” Grande begins.

“I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this, so many times.

“I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. For so long. above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to.

“The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. Rest.”
