We’d like to see Phileas Fogg do this.

Around The World In 80 Music Videos has come to the west coast of Ireland this week. The project aims to capture the cultures of the world by filming bands and musicians at home, opening the world’s eyes to indigenous music.

Four Irish artists have been chosen for the groundbreaking project, and first to be filmed is Cork singer-songwriter Mick Flannery.

His new music video is being shot in Ennis, Co. Clare.

Diana Boccara, a TV producer and screenwriter from Brazil, was inspired to undertake the project after a road trip through Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans and Clarksdale.

The team has shot in 24 different locations so far, across countries like Portugal, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy and England. Ireland is the final stop before ATW In 80 Music Videos move on to Asia, Africa and Oceania.

Boccara says that Ireland was chosen for the project due to the “high quality of music and musicians here”, as well as the nations’ aesthetic beauty. She also appreciates the Irish willingness to have a chat and help in whatever way we can.

The video for Flannery’s track “I’m On Your Side” will debut on their YouTube channel next Monday. Afterwards, Boccara and her team will film a video for Cry Monster Cry and two more Dublin acts before continuing their journey.

Keep an eye out for the “I’m On Your Side” here.
